Austin caught a bug that's been going around daycare and had the worst diarrhea this weekend. Other than the squirts, he seemed to feel fine... until the diaper rash set in.
WOWZA. Poor little guy!!!
I've never seen anything like this!
His skin was just raw and no matter how much Desitin or corn starch (thanks for the suggestion Shelly!) I put on it, it was as red as an apple!
He was in so much pain and pooping every 30 minutes or so. I would know when he was doing his business because he would start to scream in pain! Not fun.
I stopped wiping him and each time would take him over to the bath and put some cool water on it, but he would scream at that too. One time, I wanted to let it "air out" so I put a towel on the couch and put him on it to finish his bottle. He had literally just pooped about 5 minutes before that, so I thought I had at least another 10 minutes to go, but nope- he had just made his way off the couch and I heard "SPLAT" on my floor... yuck... all over (and thank god he was on the hardwood floor and not the carpet!)
On a fun note- Austin started "dancing" (i.d bouncing!) this weekend when he heard music on the TV or iPod! It was so cute!!! Although, I wonder if the fact that his little bum hurt him to sit or maybe he was doing his version of the poopy-dance, that started the dancing!
