Some New, Fun Things

Every single day, it's something new... I love it.

Here are some new, fun things that Austin is doing:

• When we say "bye", he waves... And blows a kiss!!!
• Austin now points to my nose when I say, "where's mommy's nose" and mouth when I ask where my mouth is
• Just yesterday morning, I was drinking my tea and he was spinning around like a little top! He'd make himself dizzy and fall down and thought it was the funniest thing in the world. I did too :)
• Austin is so independent. I notice it all the time when he's around other children too. Belinda has even told me this a couple of times now. He doesn't mind just playing by himself and he's not attached to a pacifier, stuffed animal or blanket (although he LOVES to snuggle up with his blanket that his Nandy made when he sleeps).

And now, a couple of things that make me cry...

My baby is turning 1. ONE!!! Unbelievable. He really isn't a baby anymore and I tear up every time I think about it. This birthday may be a tough day for me. The other day Belinda told me that she's stopped the bottles and he now drinks from sippy cups only. She asked if I had introduced them at my house, yes, I told her, I have... but I am not ready to take his bottle away. It's literally the LAST thing that makes him a baby. Belinda may have thought I was a little crazy because she laughed at me. See? She's like a good friend or a mom that tells me when I'm being ridiculous. It's going to be a hard transition though... but for no one but myself.

I also bought his "big boy" car seat today. So sad to retire the car seat that we drove him home from the hospital in. But, he has been growing out of this car seat for 2 months now, so it is time.

And lastly, some really GREAT news... Austin is going to have his first cousin!!! Ryan's brother Charlie and his wife Erin are having a baby! The baby is due first of May. How exciting! The family is thrilled and I'm sure that Austin will love having a cousin so close in age. Congratulations Erin and Charlie!!!
