It's been a week since Ryan and I found out that I am pregnant!!! We are very excited and have bought our first baby books, I've had some bloodwork done at the OB (definitely preggers) and now we're just waiting to announce our news!
The day after week found out, we headed off to Disneyland to enjoy our passes but ended up leaving 30 minutes later because of all the screaming kids and strollers- REALITY CHECK!!! haha! As we were walking to the car, there was a family behind us and their 2 year old was screaming bloody murder for about 5 minutes straight. We got to the crosswalk and the mother apologized to us and then I laughed and told her that her kid
was freaking me out because I just found out I'm pregnant! She reassured me that the kid would fall asleep 2 minutes after getting into the car, to which I told her she made me feel a bit better. Then Ryan told the little girl that i'ts okay...he always cries like that too when he has to wear his princess dress.
We had dinner with Charlie and Erin last night and decided to tell them because we knew they were going to think it's was weird that I passed on wine! It was so much fun seeing their faces- We will never forget it!!! When the wine came, I told them that I was taking a "9 month hiatus from drinking"- Charlie seemed really confused and asked if everything was okay and Erin took a couple of seconds to let it sink in and figured it out when she saw the smiles on our faces. Needless to say, they are very happy for us. We told them about our plans to tell both of our parents (I'm telling mine when I go home in a couple of weeks and we're telling Ryan's on Easter!!! Can't wait!). Ryan then told Peter today and said that he was extremely happy for us too.
Other than some excitement here and there, it's been a very SLOW week. Although I'm not feeling sick, I'm SO SO tired and have had some cramping, bloating and my boobs just hurt so bad (that's how I knew I was pregnant). ugh. Also, I am HUNGRY and so thirsty. I had a weird craving for cottage cheese with hot rooster sauce yesterday at work and so that's just what I ate, to the dismay of my co-workers! Weird. I am not sleeping that well either. I am having some really strange dreams (apparently common in pregnancy?!?)- the other night I had a dream that a neon green and pink spider was on our ceiling and coming down to our bed and I literally jumped out of bed (mid-dream), turned on the lights and yelled "there's a spider on the ceiling!". I scared Ryan half to death and then we went back to bed! I also broke the news to Ryan that we had to switch sides on the bed because I was getting up about 3-4 times a night to pee and his side is so much closer to the bathroom.
This week should be interesting too- I've got another bloodwork/lab test on Monday so they can determine just how far along I am. By my last bloodwork, she estimated between 4-6 weeks. Also, my progesterone levels are really great (which makes that baby stick to that wall!), so I felt very good about that. After this Monday's bloodwork, I am hoping that we can schedule the ultrasound- we anxious to see our little one!!!
So that's it! I'm starting this blog to keep all of our loved ones updated on the day to day of the pregnancy. We'll start taking some fun pregnancy shots as well so everyone can see just how big I am! We want to thank everyone in advance for all the love and support we know that you will show us during this exciting time.... let the fun begin!!
