9 week photo ( a little late- I'm almost 10 weeks!)

I need to get better about this blogging thing! We've had a lot going on with work and we just bought a new car- a Ford Edge which is officially the mom-mobile (I made sure it had an EXCELLENT safety rating!) and now I'm sick. blah. It stinks that I can't take any medicine because, damn it, I need it.

Here is the 9 week shot. The dress makes me look bigger than I am in the waist... but my boobs are really that big. YIKES!

9 Weeks

My friend Shannon started doing this on her blog and I thought it was a cute idea. So, I am copying her!

Total Weight Gained/Loss? - 2 lbs
Maternity Clothes - Not yet!
Sleep? - Feeling tired all the time. Ditzy too.
Best Moment of the Week? - Telling my family the news!
Movement - No, but my mom told that when she was this far along she could lay down on her back and she could feel where the baby was- I did it and I think I felt it!
Food Craving - Nachos, Brewry Bar Green Chili, Cadbury Eggs and Ramen Noodles (haven't had those since college!)
Food aversions - Meat- especially chicken
Gender - unknown
Labor Signs - Nope!
Belly Button - Same. I feel like I'm getting a "pooch" though. And I just feel "doughy" all around.
What I miss - Hot Yoga and Hot Baths
What I'm looking forward to- Telling Ryan's parents!
Weekly Wisdom - Never take any day of this amazing experience for granted.
Milestones - "Webbed fingers and toes are poking out from your baby's hands and feet, the eyelids practically cover the eyes, breathing tubes extend from the throat to the branches of the developing lungs, and the 'tail' is just about gone. In the brain, nerve cells are branching out to connect with one another, forming primitive neural pathways." - how exciting!

Colorado!

I'm a little late on posting this because I've been so busy (and tired!) since I've been back, but Colorado was amazing. It's always so great to get back and hang with the family. I managed to sqeeze in a bit of friend time as well.

Telling my parents, grandparents and brother face to face that I'm pregnant meant the world to me and I know it did to them too. I framed the ultrasound photo and wrapped it as a birthday present for my parents and gave it to my mom to open. She opened it and stared at the picture for what seems like forever. I then asked her "Well... what is it?" She said, "an ultrasound"- and still didn't get it! Finally, my dad asked if I were pregnant. I couldn't beleive that HE was the one to "get it". My brother is excited and came up with some names for the baby that we will definitely not be considering.

Telling my grandparents was fun too- I just showed them this site and the ultrasound video. Needless to say, they are extremely excited to be great-grandparents for a 2nd time this year!

I was lucky enough to meet up with Lisa, Joe and Kairee for lunch. It's just so great to be pregnant with my best friend. I'm hoping everything goes smoothly for both of us and we have girls on the same day that will be best friends too! It wouldn't surprise me if Lisa "accidently" got pregnant too... I'm actually hoping that happens :)

Now, back at home and back to the grind. We need a new car and will be shopping this week. LONG story, but I hate Toyota. I seems to be a blessign in disguise because we'll need a bigger car anyway and it looks like we can get the payment cut down in half- perfect timing.

I need to post the 8 week pic, but have been to tired and lazy....meh. Might need to just wait for the 9 week photo.

7 Weeks (officially)

This weekend was great. We were really productive- I finally cleaned the office-room closet and threw away a ton of JUNK... is this nesting? not sure.

Even though this weekend felt productive, I also feel as though I slept through half of it! I took a 4 hour nap yesterday and then woke up this morning, ate breakfast and then took a 2 hour nap. Sleep is definitely my friend.

Ryan has been so so patient with me and my crazy hormones. We've read in our numerous pregnancy books that this is normal in the first trimester, but I still caught him "Googling" pregnancy hormones and how long they last! Poor guy. He's a trooper.

Here's the 7 week shot!

Blame it on the Brain.

Yep. That's right. Pregnancy Brain. Apparently, it's the real deal and I am definitely feeling the stupidity taking over. Did I really "lose" my keys, only to find them in one of the places I always put them? yep. Did I really lose my car in the parking lot the other day (it was not a large parking lot)? yep. Did I really walk out of a restaurant without my purse and not even realize it until I got to my car and couldn't open it without keys? yep. And the kicker...Did I really forget to call my mom on her birthday?!?? YEP! I wanted to tell her SO badly that it wasn't my fault! It's the pregnancy brain!!! But that would ruin the surprise and I'm excited to tell them in person in a week an a half (!!!).

I got more blood work done on yesterday and they called today- I have now jumped ahead to 6-8 weeks along (according to my dch? levels). I'm also O+ (didn't know that). And testing negative for HIV, Gonorrhea, Syphilis, etc. etc. (whew! just kidding). My progesterone levels were great last week at 26 (anything above 20 is good), but they've dropped to a 19.11. Not a huge deal, I just need to go on a progesterone supplement to keep that baby stickin' to that wall. With all of this news, we got the go-ahead for the ultrasound!!! So, I made the appointment for this Friday at 11:30am. So excited!!!!

6 Weeks (we think)

Maybe a bit bloated?

How cute is daddy reading a pregnancy book for the "father-to-be" ... this was taken last week.

We went to Charli Lally's 4th birthday party today. The Lally's know how to throw it down for a 4 year old! We decided to leave so I could come home and nap. I've taken about 5 naps this weekend. I even like to nap after work (before bed). The fatique is the worst thing about the pregnancy. The napping is the best thing (so far!). I really, really ♥ naps.

Beginning this blog.

It's been a week since Ryan and I found out that I am pregnant!!! We are very excited and have bought our first baby books, I've had some bloodwork done at the OB (definitely preggers) and now we're just waiting to announce our news!

The day after week found out, we headed off to Disneyland to enjoy our passes but ended up leaving 30 minutes later because of all the screaming kids and strollers- REALITY CHECK!!! haha! As we were walking to the car, there was a family behind us and their 2 year old was screaming bloody murder for about 5 minutes straight. We got to the crosswalk and the mother apologized to us and then I laughed and told her that her kid was freaking me out because I just found out I'm pregnant! She reassured me that the kid would fall asleep 2 minutes after getting into the car, to which I told her she made me feel a bit better. Then Ryan told the little girl that i'ts okay...he always cries like that too when he has to wear his princess dress.

We had dinner with Charlie and Erin last night and decided to tell them because we knew they were going to think it's was weird that I passed on wine! It was so much fun seeing their faces- We will never forget it!!! When the wine came, I told them that I was taking a "9 month hiatus from drinking"- Charlie seemed really confused and asked if everything was okay and Erin took a couple of seconds to let it sink in and figured it out when she saw the smiles on our faces. Needless to say, they are very happy for us. We told them about our plans to tell both of our parents (I'm telling mine when I go home in a couple of weeks and we're telling Ryan's on Easter!!! Can't wait!). Ryan then told Peter today and said that he was extremely happy for us too.

Other than some excitement here and there, it's been a very SLOW week. Although I'm not feeling sick, I'm SO SO tired and have had some cramping, bloating and my boobs just hurt so bad (that's how I knew I was pregnant). ugh. Also, I am HUNGRY and so thirsty. I had a weird craving for cottage cheese with hot rooster sauce yesterday at work and so that's just what I ate, to the dismay of my co-workers! Weird. I am not sleeping that well either. I am having some really strange dreams (apparently common in pregnancy?!?)- the other night I had a dream that a neon green and pink spider was on our ceiling and coming down to our bed and I literally jumped out of bed (mid-dream), turned on the lights and yelled "there's a spider on the ceiling!". I scared Ryan half to death and then we went back to bed! I also broke the news to Ryan that we had to switch sides on the bed because I was getting up about 3-4 times a night to pee and his side is so much closer to the bathroom.

This week should be interesting too- I've got another bloodwork/lab test on Monday so they can determine just how far along I am. By my last bloodwork, she estimated between 4-6 weeks. Also, my progesterone levels are really great (which makes that baby stick to that wall!), so I felt very good about that. After this Monday's bloodwork, I am hoping that we can schedule the ultrasound- we anxious to see our little one!!!

So that's it! I'm starting this blog to keep all of our loved ones updated on the day to day of the pregnancy. We'll start taking some fun pregnancy shots as well so everyone can see just how big I am! We want to thank everyone in advance for all the love and support we know that you will show us during this exciting time.... let the fun begin!!
