What a week!

Wow.

I can't believe my first week of work has flown by! I expected it to draaaaaaag. It was a million times better than expected, although I did bawl my eyes out all the way to work the first day. But... I feel like a grown up again. That's a good thing, but also makes me a bit sad :)

Austin has a fabulous week with Belinda. She is so kind and you can tell that she really enjoys the kids. He went to storytime at the library, made friends and may even have his first girlfriend (Kayla- she's a doll and mommy definitely approves). I'm not sure if he's just developing so quickly, or that I don't see him constantly anymore so it's more noticeable, but he has REALLY developed this week. I'm attributing some of it to daycare where he's constantly interacting with other children and is just very stimulated! He is using his hands like crazy. He's so good at grabbing things now (including my hair and jewelry!). He is more aware than ever. We started putting the rice cereal in his bottle (much easier!) because he was going though a TON of milk and even formula at Belinda's and she mentioned what an eater he is!

Austin also wants to sit up SO badly! when laying on his back or in his swing he will use all of his muscles to pull himself up to a sitting position. Don't get me wrong- we have a long way to go, but he wants it!

At night, we finally have a SOLID routine. He is so pooped by the evening time since he's been playing all day long that he is going to bed by about 9pm. The other night he fell asleep when Ryan was BATHING him! hahahaa!! Who does that?! This kid! He is obviously having a lot of fun during the day!

On Thursday, Austin came home with his first art project- a shamrock with his hand print on it. I cried. It's on our fridge. :)

We are organized at night. That's also a good thing. Ryan looked at me the other night and said, 'when did we get so busy!?' It's true. WE are tired. But life is good.

Austin also turned 4 months old on Monday- MAN. Time flies!!!! I look at him and realize I need to really savour these time because I will blink and he will be 4 years old. (I am citing multiple sources here).

I took Austin to get his second round of shots today and he did great. The Dr. said, once again, how advanced he is. She said he seems like a clumsy 6 month old! ha!

Here are his stats:

Height: 27" (97 percentile!!!!- we have a giant-baby!)
Weight: 15 pounds, 2 ounces (65 percentile)
Head: 43cm (75 percentile)

We went to Mark and Shelly's on Saturday night and had a nice dinner with Charlie and Erin and Nandy and Papa. So great to see all of them! Everyone smothered Austin with lots of kisses. Erin and Charlie then babysat Austin for the first time on Wednesday- I think they really enjoyed it and when he came home, Austin told me how much fun he had with Uncle Chuck Nasty!
