UGH! sick. and random thoughts.

• I thought this post deserved bullet points, because that's how my brain is working right now. SICK. can't make cohesive thoughts. Happy reading!

• I caught the daycare crud. I'm sure everyone at work loved me today as I coughed and sneezed and blew my nose all day. Since I can't really take any medicine (still nursing), I am doing the Neti Pot. Have you heard of it!?!? Well, it's pretty amazing. I'm too embarrassed to post a video of me doing it, but for those that are interested in knowing what exactly a neti pot is, here you go . Don't say I didn't warn you!

• By far the worse thing about being sick and being a mommy is that you can't completely "check out". Thank god my husband is amazing with the lil' man and gave me some much needed relief tonight. 3 words- Lava. Hot. Bath.

• Oh- and since Austin's been sick, he has resorted to getting me up 2 times a night again. awesome. Hoping this doesn't become a new thing.

• We have now started letting him "cry it out" when going to bed at night and I have to say, it's working! He will cry sometimes for about 5 minutes then he is OUT. I love rocking him, and still do each night for a couple of minutes, but I just don't have time to rock him all the way to sleep anymore!

• Another random thought- have I mentioned the nursing room at work?!? I think that it may be a CA state law of some sort that employers must have a private place for mothers to nurse/pump. Have I mentioned this in a previous post? Sorry, head is cloudy so excuse me if I have! This private room was built with this in mind. It's great- mood lighting, refrigerator, sink and a chase lounge! The only downfall is that some people in the office building have found this little room and occasionally use it to nap! I haven't encountered one of these culprits yet, but another woman that is pumping told me that she had been waiting outside the other day for 20 minutes when a sleepy-eyed man opened the door! She told me that she yelled at him and took a picture of him with her camera phone- ha! Hopefully that scared him off! Anyway, pumping at work is a pain, but this room makes it much better.

• ALSO- I bought a computer camera today (half off-woot woot!) and my mom and I are going to start skyping! How 21st century are we?!?!

• 2nd to last thought- Ryan and I are going up to Santa Barbara this weekend for some much needed time together. I LOVE Santa Barbara. We are leaving the little man with Gammie and Popi for the first time! It'll be my first night away from him. Kinda weird!

• Lastly, I have a cute video of Austin I took about a week ago. I need to post it. He is a WIGGLE WORM! Last night he was wiggling around so much on his stomach and then propped up onto his knees. I know that this kid is only 4 and a half months old, but is going to crawl... SOON!

Wow. Alright. This was just going to be a short post. I've rambled enough.
