The three of us went to Colorado for a long weekend and it was fantastic. My parents and grandparents could NOT be more excited to see Austin. We arrived at 10:30pm on Thursday evening and Austin didn't go to bed until about 11:15pm because he was very excited to see his Nana
Friday was mine and my Nana's birthday. I'm 30. Wow. I can't believe it. Where did my 20's go?!? That's okay... I have a feeling that my 30's will be even better :)
Anyway, it is always very special when my nana and I get to spend our birthdays together. And guess what I got??? A CAMERA!!!!! My mom got me a Canon Rebel!!! It's the best camera ever- I am SO excited... no more blurry photos!!!! Seriously though, this thing is awesome.
On Friday the whole family came over to my parents' house to BBQ. My Uncle, Aunt and 2 of my 6 cousins from England were in town. We have not seen my Uncle and Aunt in 5 years and these two cousins in 15 years. It was so nice that they got to meet Austin. The weather was beautiful and we grilled outside during the day.
That night, my mom jumped at the chance to babysit and we headed downtown on the lightrail. We saw my friend Quinn just briefly and then headed off to a Rockies game. It was Ryan's first time at Coors Field and we had a great time! It is a bit strange though to go to a baseball game with a person who knows NOTHING about baseball! My dad was explaining the rules to my cousin the entire time... so funny!
Saturday was a bit stormy and the rain turned into HUGE snowflakes for about 20 minutes. It's pretty hysterical to see Ryan in the snow sometimes! The two of us were out in my parents' driveway catching snowflakes on our tongues!
Saturday night we celebrated my grandparents' 65th wedding anniversary.... can you believe it!??! 65 years. AMAZING. We dropped Austin off at a local daycare that does Saturday night babysitting and we headed to Morrison to eat at The Fort. It was really terrific and just great to get out with the family and have a nice dinner.
Sunday we flew home! Austin did great on the way out to CO, but didn't get much of a nap during the day on Sunday so he was a bit cranky on the plane. Luckily, we sat to a very nice lady who kept telling me not to worry and she's been there before!
Austin has SOOO much fun with Gramp!
I love how green it is in the springtime in CO...
How amazing is this camera!??!
I'm glad we got this shot, because he gets about this far... then army crawls!
When did he get so big?
65 Years of Marriage
What fun you guys!!!!!!!! So good to see ALL of you enjoying special times with such special people!! Happy for you AND impressed with a 65th anniversary....wow, I thought 41 years for us was something! :) 30 years old, huh?!? Ya, I still think of you as a young teen more than a wife & mother, Cara, BUT you are SO right about your 30's.... they are WAY better than 20's, believe me!! :) Happy 30TH, Cara!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Candi! I can't believe I'm 30. But I'm excited for my 30's :) We were just talking-we need to get a Stewart reunion together soon... maybe next summer ?
ReplyDeleteSO CUTE!! What's funny is that EVERYONE is sick of the snow and here you are running around lovin' it! I'm so bummed I missed you, but it looks like you had a nice time with the family. Happy Birthday dear friend. I'm glad you got to celebrate like you did.
