On a super cute note- the eye drops that I had to put into Austin's eyes really burned him at first and I had to sit on his body and arms and force his eyes open to get them in. It was AWFUL and I felt TERRIBLE!!! So after a couple of nights of fighting with him over it and just feeling crummy about the whole debacle, I figured I'd talk him through it (because after all, we now like to have conversations the two of us!). So I told him exactly what I was going to do and I even pretended to put them in my eyes and then he said, "Austin's turn" and laid down, put his arms at his side, let me sit on him (because I told him that I needed to) and he did great! For the rest of the week he has done that every time! I tell him how BRAVE he is afterwards! It's amazing what can happen when you actually talk them through it- lesson learned! Now if I could just do this for vegetables.............
Another side note- Belinda was diagnosed with breast cancer a few weeks ago. It's in the really, really early stages so it's not much to worry about but she's having a lumpectomy and lymph node removed tomorrow so Austin is staying with Gammie and Popi for the next 4 nights- Oh, I'm going to MISS HIM (the house is so quiet without him and that whole loneliness thing creeps in but I'm going to stay busy) but, I'm glad he gets to spend time with them. Ryan's grandmother Nandy will be watching him for a few hours tomorrow and Thursday- I'm excited that they will get to spend some alone time too. Austin loves her dog Lily and she bought him a pretty cool car for Christmas that I'm sure he'll ride in a circle for 3 hours straight!
Here's Nandy and Austin in his new ride
Think he likes it?

Okay... bye for now.
