So, I'm awful... I can't believe I haven't updated my blog in over a month! And I lied last weekend- I just didn't have time to update the blog! Next weekend, we'll be in Colorado, so I'll have a ton of photos and updates from my birthday/mother's day weekend! Can't wait!!!
Where to begin? Our April has been SO busy!
Well, first, and most important, Austin welcomed his first cousin into the world about 2 weeks ago!!! Shane William Hoherd was born on April 22nd at 9:13am, weighing 7lbs 13 oz and 19.5 inches long. Erin and Charlie are absolutely in love with their little man and he is just PERFECT. We are excited for austin to have a little playmate and I know they will be great friends. For now, though, Austin wants NOTHING to do with him! ha! The most I got out of him was a "bebe", but when it came to interacting with Shane, he'd rather play with a ball.! I'm sure it won't be long though before he is all over him. We are very excited for Charlie and Erin and their new family :)
Congratulations Charlie and Erin on your new family!!
Next, exactly a week before Shane was born, we were down in La Jolla celebrating Papa's life and the grandkids let his ashes go at the "green spot" in the water near La jolla cove. Papa spent many summers there growing up and it was a perfect send off. We took Friday off and unfortunately, it rained but it was just nice to be down at the La Jolla Beach and Tennis Club. We spent the weekend relaxing and Saturday night around a campfire eating Papa's favorite meal- bacon, hot dog and pineapple skewers. Sunday, the weather was much better and we were able to go down to the spot where Papa and Nuncle played as children. The grandkids put on their wet suits, paddled out with Papa's ashes and let him go. It was perfect.
Lastly, we had Easter up in Arcadia and it was a very nice, low-key day. I was surprised, but Austin actually really got into searching for his eggs that the Easter Bunny left! So much so, that we had to keep stealing them out of his basket when he would look the other way and re-hide them! ha! He looked adorable in his little searsucker shorts and plaid shoes. :) He loved all of the fun toys that he got in his baskets- a ball, a bunny a book and now we are using all of the chocolate and leftover candy to potty train him!

We went to the Huntington Beach Easter egg hunt the day before Easter and it may have been the biggest waste of time- they roped off a small section and then just threw candy in the grass for the kids to pick up. Totally lame! and there were SO many people there! We learned our lesson, but but some super cute photos!
See, you can tell by the look on Austin's face... he thinks it's shitty Easter Egg Hunt too.
Luckily, the playground always lifts his spirits!
Alright, that's it! I promise I'll be better at posting!!!
