Our friends Matt and Kim just had their baby at the end of June and we were lucky to finally meet him this past weekend! Matt went to college with Ryan at Sonoma State and we just LOVE his wife Kim. Unfortunatley, they live up in Napa Valley, so we only get to see them a couple of times a year. Needless to say, I was ecstatic to hear she was down here to visit family and she made the trip over to our place with her little one.
Kim is just so funny and always makes me laugh, but also gave me some helpful new mommy tips:
-Ryan should not be in the room when I get an epidural- unless he wants to witness a hot mess. And if he is in the room, make sure he is sitting down so he does not faint, hit his head, have a brain hemorrhage and die. Pretty morbid, I know, but the doctors told her that this actually happened. I'm pretty sure, Ryan will be okay... but I may have him sit down to be safe!
-Epidural- 150% yes (but of course I knew this) and get it early. Also, Fetanyl might make me puke, but I really won't care
-Delivery is painful, but breastfeeding is harder (something that I mentioned HERE)
-Breast pads are a must, as well as packing an extra shirt when I go out
-Motherhood kind of comes naturally. So does fatherhood :)
-Sleep when the baby sleeps (I hear this all of the time)
-No need for a changing table- just use the dresser
-Babies poop. A LOT
-If you have a boy, he will pee on you
Thanks again for coming to see us Kim- we love Liam and can't wait for him and Baby H to be baby-friends!!!!
Tate never peed on me. Although I was warned that he would...he just never did. There is something you can buy called a Peepee Teepee to prevent it. I think they're hilarious. Here's a link to it...http://www.amazon.com/Peepee-Teepee-Sprinkling-WeeWee-Airplanes/dp/B000EBQ8DI
